Introducing the V3: the new generation of Breier underwater hockey & rugby  fins

July 2026 marks a new milestone for Breier's underwater hockey and rugby fin ranges. After the V1 and the V2, it's time for the V3: a fin redesigned to deliver the best balance ever achieved between power and durability.

A journey that started in 2007

Since 2007, Breier has been designing and manufacturing composite fins for underwater hockey and rugby in France. A journey shaped by three generations, each one built to push the limits of the game a little further.

● 2007 — Launch of the very first composite fin designed for underwater hockey and rugby.

● 2020 — The V2 brings more lightness, responsiveness and flex at an equal stiffness rating.

● 2026 — The V3 reaches a new milestone: new structure, new fabrics, for a fin that is more durable and more powerful than ever.

With the V3, Breier isn't just improving one criterion: the brand delivers the most accomplished balance in its history between efficiency and durability.

The best balance between efficiency and durability

At the same stiffness rating and material, the V3 matches the torsional strength of the very first generation (V1), while keeping a significantly higher efficiency. The result: a fin built for the intensity of the game, with no compromise on durability.

In short: the V3 combines the power that built the range's reputation with reinforced durability, to support players through an entire season, all the way to top-level competition. (subject to compliance with the restrictions on use)

 

THE RANGE

4 materials, extreme precision

As with the entire Breier range, the V3 is available in the 4 composite materials that made the brand's reputation, from E-glass to C8 carbon, to suit every level and every playing style.

Two blade lengths, two playing styles

450 mm — for a quicker start and increased explosiveness: ideal over the first few metres.

500 mm — for greater top-end speed, best suited over the length of an action.

“If two players of the same build and level face off, the one wearing the 450 will be ahead for the first 6 to 7 metres, before being caught and then overtaken by the one wearing the 500.”

As always with Breier, the V3 is available with several types of foot pockets, in all sizes, and remains fully customisable to fit every foot shape perfectly.

 

Choosing the right stiffness rating for your V3

The V3 returns to a stiffness level close to that of the V1, at the same rating. In practice, at an equal rating, the V3 is stiffer than the V2: if you were wearing a V2, we recommend choosing one rating softer in the V3 to get a comparable flex feel.

Good to know: at the same stiffness rating, C8 carbon is slightly stiffer than the other materials in the range (E-glass, S-glass, C5 carbon). Worth keeping in mind if you're also changing material at the same time as upgrading versions.

If you practise regularly, you can choose the rating one level higher than the recommended one.
