Proper care of your fins is important to ensure their durability and to maintain their performance. Whether it's a footpocket or a blade, fiberglass or carbon, you must take care of them and rinse them thoroughly after each use. This will allow you to remove the remains of salt, sand, sea water and chlorine that  damage their surface and affect performance.

Sea water contains minerals, impurities, sand, ... that can alter your composite fins. This damage is irreversible. You must therefore take care of them. In the pool, same recommendation, chlorine is not your friend !

So taking 5 minutes after each use to rinse your fins is not a waste of time, it is the assurance of keeping your fins and footpockets performing well for a long time.

Tips 2 - Drying

This will remove any moisture from their surface and prevent them from degrading.

It's also important to store your fins in a dry, moisture-free place. If you can't store them immediately after use, wrap them in a dry cloth to protect them.

Fins don't like heat, so don't leave them in the trunk of your car in direct sunlight.

In countries with high humidity, do not coat them with Vaseline as is sometimes recommended. Vaseline damages the rubber. It is better to store them with moisture-absorbing bags.

To put them on more easily or to soften them, the temptation is great to use Vaseline... Very bad idea, rubber doesn't like Vaseline at all, it will deteriorate quickly. To put on the shoe more easily, wet the foot and eventually put a little soap or dishwashing liquid.

After the session, a rinse with clear water and a good drying are enough. This way you can guarantee optimal comfort and maximum performance with each use. Don't forget that the liner is as important as the canopy. It is therefore important to preserve it!

Tips 4 - STORAGE

One of the most important factors in ensuring the durability of your fins is to protect them from friction. Not only can it affect the appearance of your fins, but it can also cause them to become brittle over time.

That's why we recommend avoiding leaving them in direct contact with the ground or other rough surfaces. When transporting your fins, always place them in a soft carrying bag to protect them from friction and impact. Also, avoid placing them on abrasive surfaces, such as concrete or gravel.

By following this simple tip, you can ensure their durability and performance for many years to come.
